I have a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a minor in Chemistry. I love being able to help students feel comfortable with the material they are studying. I have tutored numerous times throughout college, and would like to get back into tutoring students because I find it to be rewarding. As a student who went from living in Germany and being taught that there are many ways of getting the right answer, to moving to America where everything is taught in one way, I have learned to incorporate my tutoring skills to the need of each individual student. I received my BA from one of the top liberal arts colleges in the country. In addition to my psychology degree, I also studied Spanish extensively. Based on the liberal arts education that I received, I am fully capable of teaching a number of subjects including Spanish, History, and English. I moved to California with nothing more than a suitcase and a desire to see new places. While I was there I was fortunate enough to work with a group of formerly incarcerated young women who were affiliated with the Center for Young Women’s Development. I created a writing workshop geared toward teaching these women to use their voices and to use writing as an outlet. When I returned to Connecticut, I enrolled in the Internship program at the University of Bridgeport and I have just completed my second Master’s.
