I have helped students excel at college-level classes where some students were failing. I am part of the international honor society in psychology. I love helping other people. Spelling is one of my top subjects!

First teaching job was in a school for severely autistic children. After being there for a year I taught in a residential home for boys. This was challenging but probably one of my favorite jobs as a teacher. Because of the distance from home to work (about 1-1/2 hrs.), I applied at an urban school 20 minutes from my home. My first job there was managing the Young Parents Program. This was a program for high school girls who were pregnant or had already had a child. This program allowed the young girls to attend school. Due to budget restrictions it was cut. I was offered a position as a special education teacher in the high school. For younger children I try to make up a song and sign it for them and they seem to learn better when u sign it.
