A Little Bit About Me...

First teaching job was in a school for severely autistic children. After being there for a year I taught in a residential home for boys. This was challenging but probably one of my favorite jobs as a teacher. Because of the distance from home to work (about 1-1/2 hrs.), I applied at an urban school 20 minutes from my home. My first job there was managing the Young Parents Program. This was a program for high school girls who were pregnant or had already had a child. This program allowed the young girls to attend school. Due to budget restrictions it was cut. I was offered a position as a special education teacher in the high school. I have been doing that for the past 15 years. I taught American History, Geography, World History, Government, English, Reading, Reading Intervention and Wilson Reading. Upon graduating from Johnson and Wales with a A.S. in Hotel and Restaurant Management and a B.S. in Sales and Meeting management I enyoyed my field. But Then A time came where I wanted to feel Like I was helping the community so I dedided to take a career change and I got a job in child care. I worked at a military daycare with children from infants to pre-school. I enjoyed my job and I felt really good.
