My teaching style is hands on I think most children learn better when they can see it for themselves and how things work. For younger children I try to make up a song and sign it for them and they seem to learn better when u sign it. I think learning should be fun and interesting and I feel that I have the patience to be able to teach children.
Upon graduating from Johnson and Wales with a A.S. in Hotel and Restaurant Management and a B.S. in Sales and Meeting management I enyoyed my field. My ultimate aim would be to teach the student how to successfully learn on his own. I would first determine the set of circumstances unique to each student. For example, are they far behind their class or just having problems grasping some concepts? I would modify my teaching style depending on the situation, but in general I identify facts that need to be memorized and concepts that need to be understood. We would work through material, in a textbook, for example. Finally the student must apply logic and related skills (algebra, for example) needed for problem solving. Problem solving ties facts and concepts together and brings a deeper comprehension of and familiarity with the subject.
