My comments on tutoring Grammar : I am a Cerftified High School English teacher.

I started working at JCPS as a substitute teacher in 2000 at a high-at-risk high school. I then becamse an Instructional Assistant III and was accepted into an accelerated program with JCPS and Ky. State University to complete the program in two years for my certification. I have taught at an at risk middle school for two years, and high school for the past six. I have also tutored for the SOAR after school program for the past seven years but with the cuts last year, the after school NCLB organization I worked for closed. THerefore, I am open for scheduling my own clients. I can provide many refereences of students parents that I tutored for more than one years consequtvely by request. Teaching to me is about how to engage the student. The material that is prepared for daily lessons can be nothing more than just words to some students. The instructor must become one with the student and understand them on their level. Once you can see eye to eye with your students, then you can begin to help them learn and grow. I am a 60-year old man who has taught every subject at every grade level as an artist in the schools for over 35 years. I currently substitute in all the grades in Hart County so I have had to demonstrate knowledge of every subject at every grade level. I have been in the classrooms of public schools every day for about 60% of my adult life. I hold a Bachelor's Degree from Oberlin College with a major in Biology and minors in Chemistry and Math.
