I understand that children (and adults) have differennt learning styles and try to tailor my approach to the specific needs of the student. The bilingual students I teach have a unique challenge in that the letters of the alphabet represent different sounds in English versus Spanish. I have a great rapport with the children and because they are receptive to my teaching style have been very successful.

I view teaching as successful transference of knowledge. I have a profound respect for teachers that teach for the love of it. After I completed my Bachelors degree, I taught for 2 weeks at a High School in Barbados that catered to students with special education needs. Though it was a short period of time, I enjoyed developing different techniques to engage the unique needs of each child.
