A Little Bit About Me...

I am using the Alfred adult course for adults and Schaum Making Music Method along with Bastien Piano Basics for the children.
After 8 years teaching elementary music in the Southern York School District I taught piano, organ, and flute lessons from my home studio. I was choir director and organist at Church of the Cross, Carlisle. Also, it was my responsibility to plan music for the services. I planned a variety of music for worship, organ pieces, piano pieces, or organ/piano duets.

A Little Bit About Me...

I graduated from high school as number eleven in rank out of 248. I often assisted other students in both high school and college. Later, as a homeschooling mother of four, I taught all of my children all subjects through the eighth grade level. I just returned from the island of Saipan, where I taught high school English in a private school, and seventh grade English in a public school. I presently am a certified substitute teacher in the Cumberland County, PA, public school system, where I teach almost all grade levels and subjects. I far prefer private tutoring over formal teaching, as I believe my abilities are put to their greatest use in that setting. I absolutely love working with students one-on-one. It's what I do best.

Had each student participate in two annual recitals and the National Guild of Piano Teachers Guild annually. Each student took a 30 minute private lesson weekly and performed at monthly workshops to enhance theory and performance skills. I have taken private lessons both classical and jazz improvisation. I was a church organist and choir pianist from 1981 to 2001.
