Have two years in formal Arabic study. I also studied abroad in Amman, Jordan in the fall of 2012 where I studied MSA and Colloquial Jordanian Arabic. In addition to my Arabic study, I know a great deal about Arabic Culture, History, Politics, and Society. I enjoy teaching and use a variety of different methods. I incorporate different activities into each lesson to reinforce what we have learned. With my younger students I also incorporated a lot of music into the class that helped them with their verb conjugations, pronouns, etc. To keep the students' attention I am always keeping them moving, whether it be with an activity or just simply writing phrases on the board. I encourage them to be speaking in French constantly throughout the class.

A Little Bit About Me...

As an undergraduate, my focus for studies in English were both Critical Literary Analysis and Creative Writing. Analytical writing was stressed heavily, giving me the ability to interpret a text based on intrinsic value. The creative tract allowed me to experiment with my own abilities while keeping in mind strategies implemented by others I have read and studied. A requirement for all English majors at the university was to have intermediate skills in a foreign language. I have taken four semesters of Spanish at the college level with additional language labs. Spanish was also my foreign language of choice throughout secondary school and I have had first hand practice from my work in Guatemala.
