A Little Bit About Me...

While my area of expertise is physical education, I have gained great experience in other areas of education while searving as an in house substitute for Highland Elementary. Serving as an in house substitute provided me with experience working with large groups, as well as working with students on an individual basis. This experience also provided me with the wonderful opportunity to work with students with special needs. I have also served 2 years as a full time physical education teacher, which gave me an opportunity to interact with students and further understand the learning process.
I believe the biggest key to learning is finding a way for students to relate to the information. I do not have a specific teaching style. Everyone is different, so one particular type of teaching style may not be as effective as another. In order to be effective, I think it is important to recognize the students strengths and weaknesses before embarking on a certain learning path.
I have a Bachelor's degree in History and an Associate's in Process Technology. I am a member of Phi Theta Kappa honor society. I possess excellent math skills and took statistics in college. I enjoy helping others and feel I am a good fit for this position.

I have always had a knack for the sciences and left the Midwest to follow my love of Marine Biology. While in school, I revisted my interest in the arts (painting, piano, and animation). It was then I realized I was passionate about so many topics and didn't want to limit myself to one thing! I've worked with kids throughout my entire life, whether I was teaching swim lessons, piano lessons, or tutoring. I took Spanish for 4 years in High School use it every chance I get.
