English ESOL is one of my top subjects!

I have a PhD in Spanish and Portuguese from a well-known university in the U.S. I have about 20 years of experience teaching Spanish and Portuguese on the college level. This includes elementary and intermediate levels, conversation, composition, literature, culture, film and medical Spanish. I also enjoy tutoring younger students. I lived in Brazil and have traveled extensively all over Latin America, Spain and Portugal. I am a native speaker of English and would enjoy tutoring ESL again. I have taught GED and tutored in Math, English and Social Studies. I got very high scores on my math ACT.

I am flexible. I prefer language immersion. speaking 99% of the target language results in much higher language learning. I use internet clips and podcasts every once in a while to introduce multiple speakers. plus its fun.
I have taught ESL professionally in Mendoza Argentina for the Universdad Nacional de Cuyo, and in Buenos Aires, Argentina for a provate compnay (C&C Language Solutions). I am no stranger to a standard text book curriculum or large groups. That was very similar to my experience teaching at the University in Mendoza. Try and create a connection between student and topic. Utilize various readings and real world examples to create connection. Not enough for students to memorize topic, want them to show proficiency and ability to use skills in application.
