A Little Bit About Me...

Not everyone learns in the same way. I try to discern how the student I am tutoring learns best, whether it's by just doing examples, or visually by physically relating the material to something easier to understand. After I have found out how best to teach my student, I am able to move forward and help them to the best of my ability. In my tutoring experience, I have always been respectful and curteous to my students. I believe that students are much more likely to confident in their learning if they feel as if they are respected their teacher/tutor. I also make sure to be supportive even when the student is struggling and then compliment them when they make great strides.

As of March, 2010, I am a second semester senior at Valparaiso University pursuing a Bachelors of Art in Music with a music industry track and business minor. I have been classically trained in Trumpet and Euphonium. I have taken classes to learn all brass instruments and purcussion instruments. A Little Bit About Me...

While I was attending college I served as a Certified Trainer at Outback Steakhouse for several years. I taught our classroom for trainees, and I also developed and trained key employees. In addition, I volunteered at the International Institute and have helped newly arrived immigrants American customs and basic English syntax and grammar. Soon thereafter I earned two BA degrees, one in French and the other in Political Science. Currently, I aid in the rehabilitation of socially disadvantaged children by maintaining a therapeutic environment, and teaching everyday social skills.
