I’ve always enjoyed teaching others, whether I was a kid tacking up my pony and giving informal riding lessons or leading fellow undergrad students through the forests surrounding Salisbury University’s field station. As a healthcare consultant with an associate degree in Management and bachelor degree in Business Administration, I spent much of my time writing, presenting, and educating. My mathematical, grammatical, presentation and writing skills were honed. I taught all levels of hospital personnel how to improve operations and use their new computer systems in both classroom and private sessions. I did some private tutoring last summer. I like a jump right in style that is forthright and honest. I have a sense of humor, and will use it teaching, but only sparingly. I believe that the student's desire to learn is the biggest factor in his or her mastering information. I have a lot of experience working with students who have had terrible education experiences, who have not had support at home, who have made bad personal decisions. These all effect knowledge, but not the ability to learn. I love to see students grasp something that has eluded them previously.
