My comments on tutoring Grammar : Grammar goes along with writing. I teach each child how to edit their work, look for grammatical mistakes, and I go over the biggest grammatical mistakes and rules. Learning these skills are essential in becoming a great writer.

The first strategy that I use is building a relationship with the student by getting to know who they are, what there favorite things are, subjects, goals etc... This helps me discover what strategies I can use to help them learn. I also try to discover which learning method works best. Are they visual or auditory learner? Do they learn by having things taught step by step, or do they learn through visual or read aloud examples? I believe that every student has the ability to learn and to succeed; it is about finding the best strategy and providing that extra support.
