I have been a professional print/broadcast journalist for roughly 15 years. I am a perpetual student and am currently finishing my bachelors in communications online at the University of Tampa and have been accepted in their Master of Fine Arts program for Film Studies. My teaching style would best be described as creative and flexible. I find it important to meet each student where they are at and figure out how to make the material make sense for that student. I find that many people are discouraged with English. The three biggest reasons are they have decided they can not understand the material they have been given to read; they have decided they can not write and they have concluded that what they have to say is not worth saying. I encourage students to see the wonder and "mystery" (there really isn't any mystery) of Math, regardless of the level, in the real world. To that aid, I try to present real world problems at levels the student can understand.
