A Little Bit About Me...

I have never officially taught, but I have been told by my peers that they believe I would have some skill at it. Mostly, my teaching style would involve working through problems or homework step by step with a student at first, and then once they gain more confidence, allowing them to do more work on their own. Like learning to ride a bike, I believe that almost anything can be taught this way. I would hope to use as much visual aid as possible, and I really enjoy doing hands-on things when a subject calls for it. I want to help the student feel relaxed, but also determined and enthusiastic.
I am, as of this past May, a high school graduate. I was co-president of the National Honors Society and a member of the Spanish National Honor Society at Rochester High School. I attended the Transition to Teaching program at Calument College in Whiting Indiana and completed my Student Teaching at Munster High School in Indiana in the fall of 2008. In the spring of 2009 I passed my Content Area exam and in June 2009 received a Teaching License from the state of Indiana.
