I work patiently, with humor, and at a pace with students that helps them to feel not only comfortable but appreciated for their efforts. I consider a key ingredient to be to first find what base levels of knowledge the student has before plunging into the subject at hand. Once this base has been assessed, then it is much easier to explain the principles and methods required to solve most any problems.
