I love to learn, and love passing that on to others. I am a patient personality, and I may present a problem to a student to evaluate where they are. From there, we can go either backwards or to more advanced work. Education is very important for myself and for my children, and I like to instill that learning takes you further in life than where someone may have not even dreamed. I am amazed at seeing cashiers who can't make simple change, or someone who can't calculate a small percentage in their head, such as 10% of a number. I recognize that each student learns differently. It is important to me to assses the style that is best for the student. I will always differentiate the way I teach to the benefit of the pupil. If a student needs more visual aid and description, that is how I will teach them. If a different student needs manipulatives or prefers auditory lessons, I will provide that for them. The way I teach my students is the way that they learn best. If they do not learn in the way of their appropiate learning style it will not be as effective

A Little Bit About Me...

As a Math graduate, I wanted to remove hesitation and fear of students for this subject and I became a Math tutor. I have taught advance Math (Geometry, Trigonometry, Calculus) at High Schools and also done tutoring for these subjects. During last 8 years many of my students improved their performance and now they have become Engineers. I have also tutored students in Physics.
I believe that Math is a subject of concepts and if the concepts are clear than any body can do math. Making concepts clear depends on the teacher who analyze the understading of each individual and teaches him accordingly.

From 2007 to 2010, I worked as a math tutor at Huntington Learning Center in Pasadena, CA. I spent a lot of my work there helping high school students get ready for the math portion of the SAT, but I also worked with students on their school studies (in calculus, college and high school algebra, and geometry). Most recently, I spent about five months working as a math tutor at Sylvan Learning Center in Jackson, MS. Most of the students I worked with adhered to the "Sylvan Curriculum" so that they could improve their basic math skills. However, during this time I also had a handful of homework support students. These students studied geometry, college trigonometry, and GRE and PRAXIS test prep.
