I was in a program called "Study Buddies" all four years at high school. I would devote a couple afternoons a week tutoring middle school students (and eventually high school students). During this time I would help them study for tests, complete assigned work, or help clarify any material that the student didn't understand. Also, I helped these students develop their writing and grammar skills. Starting my junior and senior year of high school, I began "one on one" tutoring with selected individuals. Study buddies was a program where several students would show up and the helpers would assist accordingly, but when I began tutoring I specifically met with them at assigned times. A Little Bit About Me...

Teaching style varies on the child in questions ability to learn. I'm patient and will do anything it takes to help the child.
I'm in my senior year of High School, I have worked with my siblings on their school all of my life. I've helped my little brother who has ADHD with his homework, I've worked with him through book projects, spelling tests, history homework, pretty much anything and everything. I have earned a BA in Journalism and English and have decided to continue on to pursue my Masters degree in Education. I have been teaching in many aspects over the last decade. After receiving my BA from Wheelock College, I have been a teacher in many areas. I have taught Oppositional Defiant 11-13 year olds, 1st grade in California, a third grade Structured English Immersion class in Phoenix, been a Newspaper in Education Coordinator, kindergarten, then first grade, and then fifth grade in California, and now .I have been working as a long-term substitute teacher as well as a daily substitute.
