I tutored peers in different levels of math in high school, worked in a first grade classroom my junior year helping the teacher with spelling, reading and math. I volunteered in a preschool in all the ages of classrooms and helped with arts and crafts, letter practice with the older age groups and reading with all the ages. My teaching style would be that of Guided Discovery. This is a highly interactive style which leads the student to uncover the answer themselves as opposed to the teacher simply reciting the answer to them. Guided Discovery requires the student to learn by doing therefore developing necessary problem solving and deductive skills that will make them better learners and thinkers both now and in the future.
