My comments on tutoring Microsoft Office : I can help student with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft PowerPoint. I have had a number of years of experience in each of them and I can help students quickly gain proficiency in each program.

I try to work with students to find connections between different aspects of the material that we're working on as well as to find connections to other subjects. I find that by relating specific topics to broader perspectives on a subject as well as related subjects, the student can gain a greater appreciation for the coherence and importance of a particular subject area.
I have experience working with students who are advanced and seeking supplementary tutoring as well as with students who are having difficulty with a subject. I have tutored mathematics as well as chemistry, biology, physics, and other subjects. I have tutored students from a range of ages and I worked with my first student over four years ago while I was in college.

I love teaching and working with children. I believe that all children are capable of learning. A Little Bit About Me...

I have been a Human Resources Manager for past 10 years. A good portion of my job is involved with training. While there are differences in training/teaching adults versus young adults and children, the basics are still the same. I have volunteered in the past as religious educator for children in first, second and fourth grade. I also did some volunteer tutoring over 8 years ago in Mississippi as I was involved with the local literacy council.
I like to make teaching fun. I pride myself on my ability to add fun through puzzles, arts and crafts, etc. and teach all at the same time. It is so rewarding when a child you are working with accomplishes what they may have though to be the impossible. All children, as adults, are sponges that are wanting to absorb all that is around them. I feel that my previous experience in working with children is my resume.

I currently hold a Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, and I will have a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education with an endorsement in Early Childhood come May 2011. During my first degree, I tutored many kids at the Elementary level that was set up through the University. I absolutely enjoyed working with the younger kids. My practicum experiences have enabled me to develop a special rapport with the age group that I enjoy most: elementary and early childhood students.
