I received a technology degree in 1975. Several years later I returned to college to persue a Physics/Mechanical Engineering Degree from SUNY New Paltz and RPI. I was an "A" student in Physics and enjoyed tutoring many classmates. I was a guest lecturer several times at RPI. Due to work and family commitments I did not complete the degree. My wife and I homeschooled our children through the primary grades. I taught sciences. While an Employee at IBM, I wrote and taight technical courses. A Little Bit About Me...

I do not believe in standardized testing. Each child has the capability of learning, but not all children have the ability to take tests, for whatever reason. I tend to "test" by playing games, such as Jeopardy, Who Wants To Be A Millionaire, etc...and have the questions be cumulative in nature, not just on the part that we are learning. This makes the kids have to learn and absorb the information, and I was told by some students that they like the way I do it. With football, it's basically the same way. I myself have learned to become more patient, more understanding, and a better listener. I have discovered that the people tend to underestimate kids, and if they really want to learn, they will.

As a college graduate I found that my skills were better off served outside the classroom and could better be used in a one-on-one situation instead of 15 kids at once.
