I received my first tutoring credential in the early 1970's specializing in prep-school placement tests, college-board prep etc. While attending Grad-School (Temple University) in the mid-70's; I worked as a substitute teacher in the Arch-Diocese of Phila. on a high-school level, primarily instructing History. At seventeen I completed the Evelyn Wood speed reading course, not that that is directly relevant to my teaching style. During the past 20 yrs. I have had a credential in several states, but have tutored only on a volunteer level.
My forte is adapting to the individual student. As a graduate of Wellesley College, I continaully strived to do achieve a high level of excellence. One of my biggest regrets in life is that I didn't get a teaching certification while I was in college. It is a profession which I would truly love. As the mother of two children, one of schoolage, I realize now that it would have been a great life choice for me. A Little Bit About Me...

I believe all children can learn by using different styles of learning. It is very important to find the best teaching style for each child you tudor. I will work on each childs learning style. Some methods I use are manipulitives, games, flashcards with either words or numbers, and key words to remember.
I have taught Kindergarten, first grade, second grade, fourth grade,fifth grade, sixth grade and tutoring small groups and individually. My most experience was in first and second grade. I have also served on both reading and math councils. I have trained teachers how to teach new math programs.

Since my years as an undergraduate student, one of my passions has always been giving back to the community through tutoring and mentoring.
