I've been a teacher's unofficial little helper since I was in Elementary, helping the students of my class that the teacher simply didn't have the extra time to help. From then on, I helped and even eventually taught my younger siblings when the current school system left them in the dust, and even helped them get a leg up and advance faster than their classmates. I've tutored a few younger kids in various subjects in my high school years, as well as occasionally teaching Taekwondo classes.
My teaching style is flexible, tailored to the specific needs of the student in question. Everybody learns differently and at different paces!

My teaching style is "Me, We, You". I will show the student how to work through the problem/concept, then we will do it together, then I will oversee and make corrections on the student's attempt to do it his/herself. I like to base my teaching off the student because no two students learn the same and implementing multiple tactics of learning is crucial.

I have over 350 hours of experience working in middle school intensive reading classrooms, 180 hours in a 7th grade science room, completed an internship in a 7th and 8th grade science classroom, and volunteered at Naples Botanical Gardens. Starting in the fall I will be interning full time in a honors marine science class.
I believe all students are capable of learning. It is the role of the educator to help students identify their strengths and provide them with the tools that will help them integrate new knowledge into existing schemas. I try to integrate metacognitive tools into content teaching to instill life long learning.

I have been working with kids of all ages for a long time. I love to see them learn and grow. That moment when they "get" something is magical! I spent the 2011-2012 school year teaching at a title 1 school in Collier County and have grown exponentially from it! I had several students in my class who needed special help, and half of my class were English language learners. These students have helped me to strengthen my skills and adapt to different student's styles.
I like to make teaching fun! If a student is bored they aren't going to be putting 100% into their work. I also use a positive reward system and celebrate all achievement. Even if it is minor.

I have enjoyed teaching and working with many different children. The feeling of a child grasping knowledge and understanding that I have provided incredibly rewarding. I teach through a hands on approach by walking them through step by step and explaining the process in order for the child to grasp and understand the process. All children are full of potential when placed in the appropriate surrounding with people who care about their education.

I love teaching and working with children of all ages. Every child has the potential to learn, but each will do it in his or her own way. I am patient and easy-going, but also determined and driven to help your child succeed. As a recent college graduate, I feel I can relate to your child seeing as how it hasn’t been long since I was in their shoes. I take pride in my work and it is a goal of mine to make a difference in a child’s life.
I recently graduated from college with a BS in Mathematics. Upon entering college, I was a Biomedical Science major, so along with my math skills, I am also experienced in the sciences. I have learned grammatical skills through writing essays and lab reports. As a high school senior, I tutored younger students in math and science. While I haven’t had an actual tutoring job in college, I constantly find myself helping others in their math and sc ... read more

A Little Bit About Me...

Currently I am working in elementary school as an ESOL (English learners) tutor, recently received my letter of elegiblity to teach Biology 6-12 and ESOL. The high school that I attended was a vocational school focused on social work; therefore I had the opportunity to work with different community development programs, including teaching academics, arts & crafts, and directing recreational activities, etc. During my college education I had a semester of practice teaching biology and chemistry in public school, when I immigrated to the USA I privately taught Spanish. Now I am a certified substitute teacher for the Collier County School District. I also applied for the teacher certification and I am expecting the 'letter of eligibility", from the Florida Department of Education, in the near future.
The experiences I gathered during my high school practices really defined a grea ... read more

I have a BS in Mathematics with a minor in physics and and AAS in data processing. I use a variety of methods to teach effectively.
I have taught many subjects and sports throughout my life. I have always enjoyed teaching. My tutoring results are mirrored in the grades of my students. I usually assess the present situation, attempt to bring the student current, then cover material expected for the grade level that may have been missed. A Little Bit About Me...

I enjoy teaching and more importantly I love helping others. I am patient, easy going and understanding. I understand that learning is a process and is not the same for everyone. Some people response better to different forms of teaching than others and that is one of the major challenges teachers face. I work well with youth and enjoy challenging myself and trying new teaching methods because any student can learn. Any student can succeed.
As a undergraduate my main focus was interpersonal and intercultural communications. I tutored at a local high school for two years in many different subjects, especially math and english. I spent two years living in a francophone country in Africa and also have two years classwork in french as well.
