As a University of North Florida graduate, I was driven to plant the seeds of learning and touch the lives of students. I have earned a bachelors degree in Elementary Education, which has enabled me to gain an understanding in teaching grades 1-6. I have taught second grade in the public school system for five years. Teaching, in general, has always been a passion of mine. I received my BA in Elementary Education in May of 2007. My internship experience was teaching Language Arts in a middle school in Chicago, IL. Upon moving to Fernandina Beach, I became a teacher for Catapult Learning in Jacksonville. During this time, I provided supplemental Reading/Math instruction to students in the first through sixth grades whose test scores were below grade level. I have also provided a six week tutoring service for the FCAT at Yulee Elementary.
With my experience in teaching, I have realized that students are like snowflakes- all unique and they learn in different ways.
