A Little Bit About Me...

I have a BS in psychology with a minor in biology and a MS in counseling psychology. I have worked in schools as a paraeducator and as a substitute teacher, with one year as a 7th grade biology teacher in a parochial school in Texas. I have worked as an editor and proofreader which, along with my advanced coursework, have given me an excellent of English grammatical skills. I am able to tutor mathematics up to and including algebra and geometry, reading, psychology, the arts, and elementary sciences.
I enjoy teaching and helping others discover their interests. I believe everyone has the capacity to learn with the proper environment and assistance. I enjoy finding the teaching style that works best for each individual learner. Learning is a collaborative effort, and all individuals do not learn alike. I returned to college in my mid-40s to complete a Bachelor's degree, majoring in Biology, minoring in Chemistry and Pre-professional Studies. This enabled me to attain competent understanding of not only the hard science classes, but also to experience writing and presentation skills at the professional level.
