A Little Bit About Me...

I have worked with teenagers, young adults and older students returning to college. I work especially well with students who have a lack of confidence about their academic or intellectual abilities. May students have told me years after taking my courses that they would not have made it to graduation without my help. I also served as a drama director at one of my colleges and produced 4 highly successful full-length plays. I have tutored an adult non-native English speaker in English composition and other language arts related subject matter. I also tutored a third grade student in writing and he finished the Connecticut Mastery Test in writing with the highest possible score after my work with him. I am currently tutoring a non-native English speaking fifth grader in language arts.

My philosophy is that education should be as individualized as possible because people do not learn in the same manner. For instance, some people are visual learners while others, like myself, are auditory learners. I strongly believe that educators should expose their students to as many fields and ideas as possible.
