After receiving a BS in Education from Illinois State University in 1997, I began teaching all subjects in grades K - 8 in the greater Chicago area over the course of 6 years (Fall 1998 - Spring 2005). After relocating to Delaware in 2005 I began full time substitute teaching in public schools, juvenile detention / rehabilitation facilities and part time tutoring (after school). I believe teaching is about learning instead of the outcome. I practice "learning by doing" where they create their own style and way of accomplishing the task based on age appropriate methods and ways that work for them. It is not about the final product, but rather how they get to the proposed finish. Kids will go as far as you push them and typically exceed ones expectations.
I began as an education major at the University of Central Oklahoma before switching to Oklahoma Baptist University.
