Diverse background with ability to adapt learning

I believe that a lack of success in academic's is usually attributed to one of two things; a lack of motivation(it's not fun enough) or a misunderstanding of the fundamentals(which brings a feeling of hopelessness). This is particularly true in foreign languages. Many times a person must rewire their brain when it comes to learning a new language. My goal in tutoring is to help students not just fix a problem but create an overall understanding of what they are learning. I also like to focus on making goals and increasing motivation to learn. During my undergraduate studies, I was selected the Departmental Tutor for French language by the Converse College Foreign Language Department. I also taught an entry-level French "drill" class for four years throughout my undergraduate experience.
