Biology and Chemistry Tutoring

Hello, I am a recent UAB graduate. I graduated May 2013 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology with minor's in Psychology and Chemistry. I am currently in the process of applying to dental schools. Although I've had no previous experience as a paid tutor, I often get asked by fellow classmates for help with these sciences. Also I volunteer at an Elementary school in Fairfield, AL through the non-profit organization Better Basics. So I am already accustomed to working/helping younger kids (K-6th) do homework and prepare for tests. My younger brother is a sophomore in high school so I feel capable of helping high school ages as well. As I mentioned earlier, most of my tutoring experience comes from helping fellow college classmates and I am confident I can help you or your child achieve the grades desired, regardless of age.

My comments on tutoring Genetics : I have taken many genetics courses in my college career and also taught this subject in review courses as well as major level biology labs at the University of Alabama.

I received my Bachelor's and Masters degree in Biology from The University of Alabama. I was placed on the President's List for two semesters and the Dean's List for six semesters. I was in the pre-health honor society Alpha Epsilon Delta. I am very experienced and knowledgeable in many science subjects such as Anatomy, Biology, Genetics, Chemistry, and Organic Chemistry. I had the privilege of teaching two major-level biology labs at the university as well as teaching MCAT review sessions. Want a laid back but knowledgable tutor?

I prefer to start off by making sure that students understand all underlying concepts related to the material in interests. Afterwards, I like to explain the material just as if I were teaching it, or allow students to ask questions of which trouble them most.
