As owner of accounting and QuickBooks training business along with the Business Specialist position at Kaskaskia College, I have trained many individuals in both a classroom setting as well as on a one-on-one basis. I love to teach my skills and assist any person in achieving their absolute best and am able to adapt my teaching skills to fit with that particular person or class. My favorite part of teaching is when I see the "Ah-ha, I understand now!" light in someone's eyes; I really enjoy assisting anyone and helping them understand a specific aspect or an entire idea. I enjoy helping others gain an understanding and interest in any subject that may be troubling them. To start, I find out what the student is currently studying and what material the student understands. I then use what the student knows to introduce and explain the material the student does not understand. Throughout the process I do my best to make sure the student understands what is being explained and has the ability to solve problems without my guidance. Once I see the student is comfortable with the material, we move on to new material. I try everything I can to work with students' needs and wants in order to help them gain confidence in their education.

My greatest joy as a tutor and professor is to witness the "Ah-ha" moment when the light bulb comes on and the student puts the pieces together and comes to understand the topic, and, perhaps more importantly, understands the significance or ramifications of the topic in relation to other topics or disciplines. As the “Ah-ha” moments add up a student’s confidence grows. Ultimately, this confidence in learning is what I am trying to achieve. I want the student to learn and believe that there is nothing he/she can’t achieve with effort and perseverance. I believe that anyone can learn anything.
