A Little Bit About Me...

I have been teaching in various forms for over ten years. I was a teaching assistant for four semesters in graduate school. I mentored and tutored people during my time as a Naval officer. I worked for Kaplan Inc for about a year, teaching almost all of their tests, including SAT, ACT, MCAT, LSAT, GRE, and GMAT. I taught mathematics and statistics at Parkland College for three years. I am currently employed as a full-time instructor at a government laboratory...but I'd like to teach more, in the late afternoons, evenings, and weekends!

I am a natural teacher - it's what I do when I'm not getting paid. I just like to share knowledge of what, why, when, where, and how. I like the process of learning, and it is a privilege to get to witness, or even positively influence, that process in someone else. Returning for grad school after the Navy, I earned my M.S. in Physics and did advanced work before deciding not to pursue a Ph.D. In the Navy I spent two years as an instructor at Naval Submarine School. During grad school, I taught Physics 211(Mechanics), 212(Electricity and Magnetism), 280(Nuc. Weapons and Arms Control), and 140(Physics for non-technical majors).
