A Little Bit About Me...

I have been playing music my whole life. I began playing piano at six years old, saxophone at ten, bass guitar at thirteen, and guitar at fourteen. Throughout my high school career I played a variety of rock band gigs on guitar, bass, and keyboards; I also played a variety of jazz gigs on saxophone. Currently I am a music student at William Paterson University, and am graduating this May with a degree in Jazz Saxophone Performance.
My teaching style varies from student to student based on playing level, musical interests, and personality. I use a mix of method books and aural learning techniques. The student's musical priorities always come first!

I am a recent graduate from Pace University in Pleasantville,NY. I graduated with a Bachelor degree in International Business Management and a minor in Italian studies. Through this education I have learned writing and presentation skills that are useful for today. I have also learned many languages such as Italian, Spanish and Portuguese throughout my years of study and traveling abroad. For seven years now, I have been babysitting for many different children and age groups. Although I have only held my BM in Music Education for a little over a year, I have always sought out opportunities to hone my skills as a teacher. While I was still earning that degree, I was the person many of my peers approached to help them understand music theory when they were stuck. None of them failed their tests after a few extra lessons with me. Since graduating, I have been working at a special education school as a one on one aide, and I am constantly making effort to coax out the musical side of my students, often with positive and exciting results.
