My comments on tutoring Resume Writing : I am NYS certified in Literacy (grades 5-12) and English (grades 7-12), although I have several years of experience with children as young as Kindergarten.

Holding active NYS certifications in both English and Literacy has had a tremendous impact on the way I teach. I find myself much better able to engage struggling students. Through college I worked with many students in Organic Chemistry. The first thing I teach students is preparation. Many students have a tendency to put off studying until the night before an exam. Organic Chemistry is one of the first classes where student needs to develop a study schedule. Second I emphasize the fundamental concepts. The content is too much to memorize and students become overwhelmed. Third I teach attitude. There is a point when students realize their potential. The point where "this class is too hard" turns into not being afraid of a challenge.
