My comments on tutoring GMAT : I tutor the math portions of the test - the quantitative section and integrated reasoning. We review necessary math skills, and strengthen fundamentals so you are equipped for the data sufficiency questions, and I give you the tools needed to quickly arrive at answers without the calculator. I teach a way to read the word problems to correctly set up the question being asked. We work on timing as well, making sure you are solving only enough of the problem to answer the question. My goal is to connect with the student at THEIR level. We start by going over the basics of problem solving and work from there to foster independent thinking. I began mentoring students during my tenure at Regis High School, a private, full-scholarship-only high school in New York City at the age of 17. After attending Villanova University and Fordham University's Graduate School of Business Administration, I began tutoring part-time with Studypoint. I have tutored over 30 different students in nearly all academic areas, including SAT, ACT, ISEE, SSAT and Academic Programs for grades K-12. It seemed I was always studying for something during the first 25 years of my life. First it was accounting in college followed by the CPA exam and then graduate school at night. I always enjoyed being a student and took advanced math classes including calculus with analytic geometry I & II. I am an avid reader and believe the book is always better than the movie!!
