A variety of methods are an important means to education as not all students experience the learning process in the same way. NLP, VAK, Multiple Intelligences, PACE system, Journaling, SuperLearning with Lazanov; relaxation tapes and tapes for particular learning needs I make myself for the students. My teaching style is highly student focused. Instead of providing only textbook reading and writing my classroom focuses on having the students work hands on to create models of the systems they are learning so they can develop their own understanding of the material. I believe that all students should have an interest in the workings of biology especially related to the human body. A priority of mine is to make sure the students are not rushed in their learning. I feel that in teaching my goal is to effectively reach all children. Individual care and attention are the most effective ways which I feel a child can be persuaded to learn. In 2003 I traveled to India where I began work in a village in the South teaching English and Sociology to 4-11th graders. In college, I earned a Bachelor's degree in English literature and a minor in Hawaiian Studies. Though I received my degree last June, most of my teaching experience came while I was still learning. In high school, I worked as a museum docent for after-school programs - at one point trying to convince 3rd graders that M.C.
