International Cultural Trainer (ICT): For many years I have been offering courses to expats from and to the US with respect to general cultural challenges professionals might face when working for their respective companies in the US or abroad. In these trainings (which I also offer tailor-made if requested) we discuss topics such as culture and culture shock, political and historical profile of the respective country, daily life and how to function in society practically (including spare time activities and sightseeing), opinion/stereotypes, core values, self-image, social interaction and public behavior, business interaction and etiquette, language aspects and communication in general, family, children, health care, school system (education), ethnic or racial issues, and religion

Depending on the needs and skills of the students, I will adjust my teaching style. Hence, it can range from being very structured to the loose conversational interaction where I intersperse grammar as needed throughout the instruction. Also, I apply visual and oral methodology with highly interactive elements in all of my lessons, so that the students get exposed to as much real-life situations as possible in grappling with the language. The target language takes center stage from almost the very beginning. During the first few sessions, if students begin from scratch, it will be unavoidable to use English. Having taught high school in both affluent and underprivileged areas I strive to make sure that every student has a positive learning experience. My degree is a BS in Communication/Business with a minor in education. Language has always been my first love and I continue to take classes related to this field. I like working with children of all ages. I believe that children of all ages and cultural backgrounds can learn if given a proper chance. I even managed to teach children in South Korea, when I didn't speak Korean at all and my students had limited English skills. I taught them through games and use of our workbooks and student books.
