A Little Bit About Me...

Prior to becoming an HSE Instructor, I tutored youth in a juvenile detention center. Currently, work for Dutchess Community College teaching HSE. I started working with Dutchess Community College in March of 2014 as a substitute HSE Instructor. In October of 2014, I was promoted to full-time HSE Instructor with my own classroom. I work with a variety of students aged 16-35; My position involves helping students prepare for the HSE exam, learn studying and test taking strategies, and brush up on basic mathematical skills.

I believe as an educator you have to understand the topic you are teaching and the students your are teaching. As a teacher you are dealing with various levels of learning as well different personalities. I believe you have to be open to what works for the individual and the classroom. Many young students do not understand why they must learn and why it is important. We as educators must show students how education applies to all life, especially theirs. I had a wonderful experience attending MSMC.I learned a wide variety of skills and techniques throughout the Psychology teachings as well as about the intriguing study of Psychology itself. There were many opportunities to examine and research philosophies and perform actual research as a team. I had the experience of learning a long side other students, however, I did tutor other fellow classmates at various times throughout my educational career in many venues.
I truly enjoy presenting people with ideas and having them gain the knowledge and capacity to gain the intended results. I have taught and mentored people within my work setting as well. My preference has always been to allow someone to think of ideas after you give them the tools they need; it becomes both productive and rewarding at the same time.

A Little Bit About Me...

I have several years of tutoring experience at various settings including urban, suburban, and rural high and middle schools. I have tutored such subjects as French, Spanish, Math, and English.
