Some children are more visual and may require more interactive exercises to learn. Being a father to a 13 year old son, and having close friends with school age children, I have been able to teach some of my ways of doing math in subjects from simple math to algebra to geometry. I believe that there are more ways than one to complete and understand a math problem, and that if done correctly and it is easier to learn and remember, then that may be the way that student better understands that procedure.
