A Little Bit About Me...

I have been a substitute teacher in all grade levels in the Alexandria (VA) City Public Schools District for several years, and within that I have a great deal of experience with ELL and Special Ed students. I am currently a long-term sub for ELL students at the Juvenile Detention Center school, which has added value in connecting to challenged and struggling youngsters. Let's get back down to the basics (Latin, History, Science)

I like to boil things down to the basics. With Latin and Science that means learning as much as one can about the basic elements and then building one step at a time on those basics. In history, it means learning the story, and telling the story.
I recieved a BA degree from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. I majored in Classical Civilization (with a Latin Concentration) and History. I have 12 years of experience teaching Latin. The courses I have taught include introductory courses, Latin I, Latin II, and Latin III. 3 years of Life Science teaching experience. 4 years of History teaching experience (as a tour guide and history interpreter) 12 years of experience teaching writing as well.
