A Little Bit About Me...

My style of teaching was geared to the individuality of each child and his learning abilities. I feel that each child must learn at his own pace and it is my place to deal with this. I think that the teacher must motivate the child to want to learn and to discover the innate ability within each child. It was my job to make learning fun, creative, desirable and ultimately rewarding.

Of course, that does not mean learning isn’t work; but part of growing up – and selecting a career – is learning that work can be enjoyable. I should mention that it is not my way to enforce memorization for the sake of it. If you understand concepts, that is much better. I always say “an example is the embodiment of a rule”. A Little Bit About Me...

The humanities have always been my passion. As a graduate of Sewanee: The University of the South, I had a writing-intensive course load which helped me develop extensive experience with the writing process. I hold a BA in history, which required the frequent composition of research papers. I have written essays in numerous subjects, but history and English are my favorites.
