A Little Bit About Me...

1998 was the my first tutoring experience, I took time from busy school schedule to tutor students in Math and Science at a low income school near my college. After spending time tutoring students in a variety of subjects I decided to go for an education degree once I finished my undergraduate degree. While working towards my Masters degree I spent a semester working in the Seattle Public school as a substitute teachers aid. Once I finished my Masters degree and teaching certification I received a job as an Earth Science teacher. I taught for one year at that school and then moved to the state of Tennessee. For the past two years I have taught Biology, Physical Science, and Ecology.

As my experience at college drew to a close, I found that the most rewarding activities I participated in were centered on education. I am a lifelong learner, and I love participating with others in the learning process. I set a relaxed atmosphere that fosters the students drive to ask questions and seek answers. I am comfortable with taking control of a session and speaking throughout (Lecture) or allowing the student to come up with their areas of difficulty and ask questions (Synthesis).
