Spanish is one of my top subjects! Studied and received a major in Spanish at Mississippi College. While in school, I studied abroad at a University in Costa Rica. After graduating, I lived abroad in Peru, putting the language to practice at a local orphanage. Upon returning to the united States, I have worked for two years as a Spanish teacher at both a middle school and high-school level.
While studying at MC, I took the opportunity to live and study abroad in Costa Rica, where I learned most of my conversational Spanish. After graduating from Mississippi College with a bachelor's in Spanish and a certificate in TESOL, I lived abroad in Peru working for an orphanage. Upon returning to the States, I worked as an ESL and Spanish teacher at both middle school and high school level. When teaching a language, I believe one should not only have the knowledge of the grammar and syntax, but the skills of communication. Thus, I implement a lot of conversational English and Spanish in my lessons within the classroom and tutoring. Depending on the age level, language acquisition techniques are changed to fit their interest level.
