I prefer to see what the learning style of the student is and then adapt my teaching style to the student.
I was an in-school suspension teacher for two years at Durand High and Middle School, helping students get caught up on their pre-algebra, social studies, science, English and Spanish homework. Previously to becoming a teacher I worked in industry as a project manager or assistant for different companies, using Spanish occasionally. I student taught in 2004 at Hononegah HS, one semester at Auburn High School before being hired at Durand High School. My early teaching and learning style was to do as many problems that were thrown at me in class or the text. I learned quickly that you need to understand the problem in order to solve problems that aren't set up for you.
