My comments on tutoring Communications : This is such a broad subject. It would depend on what in communications you were looking for for me to rank my proficiency.

I recently graduated with a double major in theatre and public relations. I've been doing both for 5 years. In theatre I have been both on and backstage for numerous productions as well as assisted three Acting I classes throughout my college career. I've directed, stage managed, acted, designed, built, and teched over 20 shows in total. In public relations, I've written press releases, news articles, made media press kits, interned at a non-profit organization where I created marketing materials with InDesign and Photoshop.
With acting or theatre, I like learning my subjects style of learning and going from there. It's very easy to coach someone through an acting exercise once you know the way that they learn the best. In Public relations, it is a bit harder to figure out the best way to teach each person, because it is a more straightforward, fact based art.

Learning especially reading is a slow process where small steps towards the final goal count more than big leaps which are not lasting. As I teacher for the last five years in Lake County I have taught English as a second Langugage,and students with exceptionalitites in grades sixth through eight. I have students that have learned to read while in my class as well as increase their knowledge of how to sound out a word and independently being able to spell. My success rate this past year in a few of my prized students whom weren't even to write in complete sentences or spell resulted in them receiving a passing score of the grade 8 FCAT.
My teaching style is one that is easily relatable to the students. I teach bringing the real life to the classroom so it is applicable to other parts of their life, not just being able to comprehend the questions of a reading passage but successfully being able to apply what they have learned to life outside the classroom.
