With a degree from Purdue University and continuing on to get a degree in engineering, I am engaged in many areas of science and math. Even at a young age I taught my younger sister basic mathematical and reading skills even before she entered kindergarten; we called it "school". The youngest, my brother, in which we are both diagnosed with ADHD, is amazing. I quickly learned to be patient with him when helping with his homework because I can see the same frustration on his face I had at his age when trying to concentrate on a difficult task. Every child wants to learn, although a more creative design may be needed to find a child's greatest potential. I really enjoying being able to help students understand chemistry and biochemistry. I believe that being able to give students the individual attention they need, can make all of the difference in helping them understand the difference concepts to be able to apply them. I am a recent college graduate. I was award "Top Student" Honors in Genetics for 2007-2008, and "Outstanding Student Honors" for 2008-2009. My overall GPA was 3.8/4.0. I am interested in how others learn, and I took several psychology courses including Educational Psychology and Adolescent Psychology. In the course of my college education, I studied mathematics all the way up to calculus. I also excelled in general chemistry, and completed a heavy concentration of biology courses. I have written several research papers, and have excellent grammatical skills. I majored in communication at Purdue in the course of my Humanities degree. This would help me to communicate with individuals from all walks of life. My teaching style is Socratic. I find out where the student's understanding lies, and then I lead them through the process of discovery. This is an interactive process.
