"Teaching" was the way I supported myself through college. I was a lab instructor, university experience teacher, cultural anthropology tutor, nutrition educator, and even a gymnastic instructor. I was thankful to find the College of St. Mary's Masters of Arts in Teaching. It is a solid program that has given me the opportunity to have a formal education in teaching. My teaching style depends on the student. If the student is not understanding something I present the information in one way. If this does not click, then I will find another way to explain the information. I love to see kids (and adults) understand new concepts. I am very patient when teaching and use repetition frequently to help the student learn the foundations of the subject. I do not think something is too hard for a student to learn. I have been tutoring my entire college career. All of my students received the grade that they were wanting and quite a few students even recommended me to their peers. I began tutoring one student a semester privately and was eventually recruited to tutor for a University program. While tutoring for the program I tutored 7 students one on one and ran a help room where I assisted many more. I have a BS in Aerospace Engineering so I am quite familiar with most math and science subjects.
