A Little Bit About Me...

I like to work with children of all types. I think that anybody has the capability to learn if they really want to. Everybody learns in a different way and I am willing to work with them any way I can. I am very patient, laid back, and willing to try new ways to help children accomplish their goals. A teacher is their to help them learn and lift their spirits in times of frustration and show them a different approach to the problem. Encouraging the child can make all the difference in the world sometimes when they are about to give up.
I am a graduate from Pittsburg State University with a Bachelor Degree in Psychology and about to graduate in May 2011 with another Bachelor degree in Recreational Therapy. I especially value working with students by "starting where they are" and building a learning path together to reach the goals that the student has set for himself or herself. Meeting the student's needs -- rather than achieving my goals for your student -- comes first. My passion is in learning from each student first what those needs are.
