I began my college career at Columbia University, N.Y. where I matriculated in the top 5% of entrants. I moved to Africa where I lived and returned 10 years later. I joined the United Nations where I worked at headquarters New York and later as a field officer in the Middle East and South Africa. Part of my assignment during my stay in the Middle East was to teach the local staff English. As a member of the diplomatic corps to Namibia, Southwest Africa, my task was to draft the preliminary paper to be presented at the General Assembly in respect of the independence of that country. I returned to the U.S. and worked as executive assistant to Bradford Morse, the Administrator of the United Nations Development program. I've tutored kids within the inner cities of Atlanta, through a program called Emory reads. As a tutor I was responsible for helping them with their homework which included all subjects. I've also served as a teacher's aid, my responsibility was to ensure that the kids paid attention and address any problems in understanding that came up during the lesson.
I use a lot of repetition and the asking of questions to ensure that students are learning concepts. I also try to give them analogies to help them remember things. I love working with children, as the oldest in a big family, I have often served as caretaker while my father is at work. I currently have an 8 year old younger brother who I'm working with as well as one in his Sophomore year of High school. I'm helping him with algebra and pre-calc.

I entered college in my late twenties and have been involved in some aspect of learning ever since. I was able to complete my BA in Psychology and Religion as Cum Laude and my MA in Counseling Psychology with a similar GPA. Since graduating I have had the opportunity to work with children and adolescents in a counseling capacity which often mirrors mentoring, teaching and leading. As a recent graduate of Lock Haven University, I have obtained dual bachelor's degrees in both Accounting and Business Administration. Throughout the course of my college career, I have completed several accounting related projects including auditing cases, creating financial statements, etc. I have helped several students with accounting classes over the past four years, completed an accounting internship and am very educated in the subject.
