I just started tutoring but find that I enjoy helping people with Math and helping them understand the concepts. I'm easy to get along with and laid back. I like to let the student start the problem and see where they need help.
I am a recent graduate, I graduated in 3 years and will be going back to finish my engineering degree. I have a BS in Electronics Technology which required me to take Cal I,II,II, Applied Statics and Technical Math. I worked at Elohim Center tutoring the kids at an after school homework center in Hartsville, SC. I also worked at Hartsville School of Performing Arts for a short time period. However I provided assistance to the teachers and mentored the children that had potential, but didn't have the extra push in life to motivate them to be more. I worked at Billie Hardee Home for Boys in Darlington, SC as a volunteer I provided teen age boys the assistance in tutoring them with math, reading, and science. I have earned a BA in Criminology and an Associates in Sociology. I have six children of my own and know that every child learns differently, even when they come from the same family. I believe the majority of children can master the material they are presented in school, but it is a matter of time. Many children take a little more time to understand the concepts and master the skills needed to move on to the next level. Sadly many of these children aren't given the time to do it and are just passed on to the next level. By doing this they fall further and further behind until they become discouraged to the point of quitting. I desire to reach those children.
