A Little Bit About Me...

I have taught both children and adults private piano lessons. I taught history and other subjects for 2 1/2 years as a daily and long-term substitute teacher in secondary schools. For one year I directed a public library story-time program for preschool children. I worked two years as a middle school Library Media instructor. I wrote curriculum and taught computer literacy for four years in a prison GED program. My undergraduate and graduate degrees conferred honors. I enjoy writing, and I completed a short story correspondence course with Writer's Digest. A science fiction zine published one circa 1997.

I taught public school for 4 years before getting a masters degree in Religious Education with a Concentration in Childhood Education. I wanted to complement my undergraduate Elementary Education degree. Therefore, I choose the childhood education concentration at seminary. Then I was a Assoicate Pastor for Children for over 13 years where I supervised paid workers and planned activities for a children's ministry at a local church. I had to maintain a budget for this ministry in the amount of $38,000. Over the course of all of these years, I have learned a vast array of skills.

Every child learns in his or her unique way. Some children are visually oriented some children are auditory learners and some are tactile. As a good teacher it is my responsibility to find which way works best for any particular student and use what works best to get across the information I am trying to impart.
